Mfon Essien is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Bioresource Engineering, McGill University working on the economic and environmental assessment of agricultural BMPs (beneficial management practices) that have the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and climate change. She completed her MSc in Agricultural Economics, McGill University. Prior to joining McGill, She obtained a B. Agric Tech in Agricultural Economics from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri where her research project assessed resource-use efficiency of Cassava production in Imo state, Nigeria. Upon completion of her bachelors degree, Mfon worked for 2 years as a Training Coordinator at Kimberly Ryan (A Human Resource Consulting Company) in Nigeria. Her interests are; food security, agriculture, and climate change.
