Mr. GABRIEL CURTIS

Mr. Gabriel Curtis is Minister in charge of investments and public private partnerships of the Republic. He is responsible for conceiving, executing and monitoring the Government’s private investments and public private partnerships’ policies. Previously, he led the Private Investment Promotion Agency of Guinea for four years, executing the Government’s private investment promotion policies, encouraging and enabling private investments in Guinea, facilitating company registration, and contributing to the improvement of the country’s investment climate. Mr. Curtis was also cumulatively Permanent Secretary of the Presidential Advisory Council on Investments and Public Private Partnerships and member of the Economic Pool of the Presidency which is tasked with advising the President of the Republic of Guinea on economic and financial matters.


Previously, Mr. Curtis worked seven years for BNY Mellon first in New York and then in London where he completed the corporate implementation plan to comply with Basel II in the United States, and as Vice President, Senior Risk Manager he oversaw effective risk governance of the Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Mr Curtis also worked for a firm in Washington, DC for seven years on financial sector development and privatization projects in several sectors on the African Continent.


Mr. Curtis holds a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University. He is fluent in English, French, Soussou and has a good command of Fula and Spanish.
